About Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur's streets are full of diverse characters, making each neighborhood unique. Exploring areas like Pudu, ChowKit, Kampung Baru, Bukit Bintang, and Chinatown I  feel like I'm always discovering a new city.
While KL's streets aren't as chaotic as those in India, Japan, or New York, it's still crucial to know where and when to take photos to capture moments.
Shooting Street in KL is one of the easiest cities, most of the people are friendly and accepted to be photographed.

Top 8 Street Spots:
1: Petaling Street/ Chinatown KL
Petaling Street/Chinatown is the heart of the City.
There are many interesting characters in Chinatown and moments waiting to be explored.
LRT/ MRT Train Line is in the area so you can travel to all street spots mentioned above. Some of the spots are within walking distance of Merdeka Square, Masjid India, and Central Market from Chinatown.
The best time to shoot Chinatown is from 9 am-12 pm, You could get amazing light there. After you have explored inside Chinatown walk around the outer areas You could find the Chinese Temple, Indian Temple, and Kwai Chai Hong.
Guan Di Temple Chinatown &  Sri Maha Mariamman Temple are awesome for street photography especially when an event or festival is happening in town.
Chinatown at night is interesting to photograph too, the busy atmosphere it gave. from 6-9 pm would be the ideal time to be there.

2: Merdeka Square , River of Life and Masjid india
Independence Square is a square located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During weekends there will be people/ family coming to the square to relax and have some family time.
Sometimes there will be events/festivals happening on Weekends.
Masjid India Street is interesting as it's a place with many mannequins,  close by from the square.
The best time to go to Merdeka Square morning if there's an event happening and at 5 pm when the light is good there.
Masjid India is nice from 10 am-12 pm good light.
To get here you could take the LRT Line to Masjid Jamek.

3: KLCC Petronas Tower
KLCC Petronas Tower is the most iconic building in Kuala Lumpur, It's also a tourist attraction.
I enjoy photograph here as there are many different characters from all around the world.
There's a park behind KLCC which is great for street photography, Evening 5 pm the light will be hitting there.
LRT Line to get here (KLCC Stop)
4: Kampung Baru
Kampung Baru, with its modest houses, stands in stark contrast with the skyscrapers and modern high-rise buildings in the rest of the city.
You can get here by LRT line to (Kampung Baru)
5: Chow Kit Market
Chow Kit Market is Malaysia’s largest wet market, the place is closeby to Kampung Baru.
This market has tons of characters and the atmosphere it gives off. The ideal time to come here is 7 am-12 pm. Where the light will be good.
To get here you could take the monorail line to (Chow Kit Stop) or take the LRT line to (Kampung Baru) and make your way here.
6: Little India, Kuala Lumpur
I did not go to Little India for street photography that frequently as the energy is lacking there.
It's a slow pace for street photography here. Is still an interesting place to explore with your camera. Morning would be the ideal time to be here.
To get here you could take the LRT Line to (KL Sentral)
7: Bukit Bintang KL
Bukit Bintang is the modern city center, with Pavilion KL as the core. It's a place with many people with fashion.
Morning time is not much happening only workers/men in suits are coming in for work.
Bukit Bintang Evening-Night is when it's getting alive, like a mini Shibuya in KL.
To get there you could take the MRT line (Bukit Bintang Stop) Or the Monorail which goes from KL Sentral.
8: Pasar Pudu
Pasar Pudu is the best market to shoot in KL in my opinion, when the light is good the colors will be awesome for photos. Additionally many cats and characters are there to be photographed.
7 am - 11 am great light around this time.
The outside area of Pudu is also great for street photography it's an older side of Kuala Lumpur.
To get here you could use the LRT Line (Pudu Stop)
